STILL WAIT

STILL WAIT
80 cm x 70 cm, mixed media on deep edged linen canvas
Another lockdown exploration, and part of my Mindscape Contemplations collection. This piece was displayed in Marylebone at the exhibition Timeless Act - a collection of my abstract work alongside Norman Parkinson’s iconic photography. Painted with no apology for the stormy, rain-drenched sky, jagged horizon and sense of a weeping heart, this painting is a full expression, a statement of embracing the ever-present sorrow in beauty. The oil paint is applied both thickly, mixed with sand, with sweeps of a palette knife, and at other moments it is diluted and blended with paper towels and brushes for the softer more ethereal sections.
